Funded by a National Science Foundation grant, the NexSTEM Program awards Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) scholarships to talented Illinois State University (ISU), and Illinois Wesleyan University (IWU) applicants with significant financial need and pairs this financial support with mentoring and academic supports. NOTE: Given the timeline of the NexSTEM grant, we are now solely focusing our efforts on recruiting 3rd and 4th year STEM majors who are enrolled at IWU or ISU. Applications are by invitation only.

NexSTEM Scholarships + Community

Funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation, the NexSTEM Program provides scholarships and academic supports to academically successful, low income students from McLean County and the greater Central Illinois region who are pursuing STEM degrees at Illinois State University (ISU) or Illinois Wesleyan University (IWU). Successful applicants are awarded scholarships of up to $10,000 per year, with the exact amount determined by the student's financial need, the college's cost of attendance, and availability of federal funds. In addition to receiving financial support, scholarship recipients are a part of a mentoring network and benefit from academic supports and a caring community.
